Swiss Alps Classics 2024 again at the beginning of May with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra
The 8th Swiss Alps Classics in Andermatt (May 2 to 4, 2024): On Friday, May 3, 2024, the Norwegian violonist Eldbjørg Hemsing will perform with the string ensemble of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra and the Norwegian pianist Håvard Gimse in the Andermatt Concert Hall.
With her program, the artist will bring Nordic sounds to Andermatt. Hemsing will perform Edvard Grieg's Våren “Last Spring” in the arrangement by Ben Palmer for violin and orchestra from op. 33 no. 2 and P.I. Tchaikovsky's “Souvenir d'un lieu cher” (“Memory of a beloved stay”) in the arrangement by Nils Thore Røsth for violin and orchestra from op. 42 with a string ensemble from the “Luzerner”. With Håvard Gimse, the artist will perform Johan Halvorsen's “Norwegian Dance No. 2”, Suite Mosaique op. 35 Veslemøy's Song, “Norwegian Dance No. 1”, Johan Svendsen's Romance for Violin and Piano and Edvard Grieg's Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 2 in G major.
Eldbjørg Hemsing, born in 1990, is one of the most charismatic violinists on the international scene. Praised for her radiant and sophisticated performances, she is a musician who is committed to bringing her art form to new audiences around the world. Her international career has quickly taken off, resulting in four award-winning albums and the premiere of numerous compositions in many of the world's greatest concert halls.
The concert on Saturday, May 4, 2024: The Lucerne Symphony Orchestra with Emmanuel Tjeknavorian from Vienna as conductor and Anastasia Kobekina on the cello will perform in the Andermatt Concert Hall. The wonderful program of Switzerland's oldest symphony orchestra will include P.I. Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations op. 33 for cello and orchestra as well as Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Symphony No. 4 in A major “Italian” op. 90. Anastasia Kobekina will also perform Johan Halvorsen's Passacaglia for violin and cello on a theme by George Frideric Handel with Hemsing.
